Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka proved his unselfishness in Leicester City’s dominant 6-2 victory over Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.
Despite being in a prime position to score, Daka opted to assist his teammate, James Justin, for Leicester’s fifth goal in the match.
The key moment came just three minutes after Daka was introduced as a substitute in the 60th minute.
On a counter-attack, Daka found himself with just one defender to beat but chose to square the ball to Justin, who made no mistake in putting it into the net.
Daka’s selflessness didn’t stop on the pitch. After the match, he showed his appreciation for the fans by giving his jersey to one of them, demonstrating his strong connection with the supporters.
Meanwhile, Fashion Sakala found the back of the net for Al-Fayha in their 1-1 draw with Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday.
With the match heading toward a goalless draw, the 27-year-old put Al-Fayha in front during injury time. However, Al-Ittihad quickly responded as Yami equalised just two minutes later.
This goal marked Sakala’s fifth of the season in 14 appearances. Despite being somewhat out of favour with the Zambian national team, he remains a key player for Al-Fayha, alongside former Manchester United and Roma defender Chris Smalling.
Al-Fayha are 17th in the league, while Al-Ittihad, bolstered by stars like Fabinho, Karim Benzema, and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Hilal teammate, share 37 points at the top of the standings.
