Zambia Must Prosper (ZMP) Party president, Kelvin Bwalya Fube, has called for respect of former President Edgar Lungu as the country’s only surviving former head of state.

Bwalya said this in Lusaka’s Chawama Constituency when he officiated at the 5th anniversary of the Chawama Shunamite Women on Saturday.

He said president Lungu deserves the respect of everyone in the country and should be accorded his rightful place for all that he did for this country.

“There is a need to honour and respect his elder brother, former President Lungu, who is the former member of parliament for Chawama Constituency and the immediate past Republican President,” Bwalya said.

He has called on the people of Chawama Constituency and the country at large to pray for former President Lungu and to stand with him especially this time around when he is going through persecutions.

Bwalya said he had a cordial working relationship with President Lungu and that let bygones be bygones.
