Zambia Women’s Football head coach, Bruce oMwape, has been ranked the sixth-best women’s coach in the world by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
According to Bola News, monitored on Saturday by Zambia Monitor, Mwape is the only African coach to feature in the IFFHS Top 10 category.
The list was topped by Chelsea Women’s manager Emma Hayes, followed by Spain’s Montse Tomé and England’s Sarina Wiegman, a three-time winner of the award since its inception in 2020.
Mwape placed behind Brazil’s Arthur Elias (4th) and Germany’s Horst Hrubesch (5th).

The voting panel consisted of 81 experts and selected editorial offices worldwide, awarding Mwape 15 points.
Mwape has had a notable coaching career, leading Zambia to the 2024 Olympic Games and securing qualification for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
In 2021, Mwape was honored by IFFHS as the CAF Best Women’s National Team Coach for guiding Zambia to their maiden Olympic Games.
