Kennedy Musonda clinched a late victory for Chipolopolo in their 1-0 win against Chad on Tuesday at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Cameroon.
The match started with intensity as Zambia won a corner just two minutes in, but Chad successfully defended, leading to a back-and-forth exchange between the teams.
In the 24th minute, Chad’s Haroun Tchaouna collapsed in pain and had to be substituted, with Ahmat Youssouf coming on in his place.

Zambia had a golden opportunity 43 minutes into the game when a powerful shot from outside the box was saved by Chad’s goalkeeper, Gabin Allambatnan.
Despite Zambia creating more chances, Chad’s defense stood strong, keeping the score 0-0 at halftime.
Chad started the second half on the offensive with a powerful shot on goal, but Zambia’s keeper, Toaster Nsabata, made the save, giving Chad a corner.
As the game neared its conclusion, Zambia increased the pressure.
Their ninth corner kick led to a Chad counter-attack, but it posed no threat.
In the 69th minute, Zambia finally broke through when Kennedy Musonda fired a right-footed shot inside the box, beating the goalkeeper.
Despite Chad earning a penalty in the 85th minute, Nsabata’s heroics denied them, sealing Zambia’s victory and ending Chad’s hopes of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations.
