Musician Wesley Chibambo, popularly known as Dandy Krazy, is set to undergo emergency surgery at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) following a road traffic accident along the Great North Road that claimed four lives.
UTH Public Relations Officer, Nzeba Chanda, confirmed Dandy Krazy’s critical condition, revealing that he was referred from Kabwe Central Hospital (KCH) in the early hours of Wednesday.
“Dandy Krazy sustained multiple injuries and is receiving treatment. We urge the public to respect his privacy during this difficult time,” Chanda said in a statement, adding that updates on his condition will be provided later.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Shackman truck involved in the accident, 28-year-old Hachalwa Lweendo of Makeni Township, Lusaka, has surrendered himself to the authorities.

The accident occurred on December 31, 2024, at Green Leaf, 25 kilometers south of Kapiri Mposhi.
Lweendo, an employee of Kresco General Dealers, reported himself at Luanshimba Security Checkpoint, where a statement was recorded before the case was transferred to Kapiri Mposhi Police Station.
Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, commended Lweendo for cooperating with the investigation.
“The Zambia Police Service remains committed to ensuring road safety and justice for all,” Hamoonga said, urging the public to adhere to traffic regulations.
