Lusaka-based musician, Jackson Chikonde, popularly known as Jamaika Zed, has pleaded not guilty to charges of marijuana trafficking.
Chikonde, a 20-year-old student at Evelyn Hone College, appeared before Lusaka Magistrate Chrispine Hampungani, denying the allegations.
According to a statement from the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), the artiste’s music videos had allegedly challenged law enforcement agencies and incited criminal activities.

Chikonde is accused of trafficking 84.65 grammes of marijuana without lawful authority on January 24, 2025.
The trial is set to begin on February 20, 2025.
