Mufulira Wanderers appoint Chilumba as head coach

Mufulira Wanderers Football Club has announced the appointment of, Tennant Chilumba, as their new Head Coach on a 2-year, 8-month contract.

Chilumba, a seasoned coach in Zambian football, had previously managed top clubs including Kabwe Warriors, NAPSA Stars, Forest Rangers and Kansanshi Dynamos.

He also gained international experience coaching Zimbabwean sides Hwange and Platinum.

In a statement issued by the Club Management in Mufulira on Thursday, it was revealed that Chilumba’s most recent role was as assistant coach at ZESCO United.

Joining Chilumba is Joseph Musonda, a 2012 AFCON champion, who will serve as assistant coach.

Musonda previously held similar positions at Nkana Football Club, Prisons Leopards and Trident FC.

In related changes, Harrison Tembo had been redeployed as Head Coach of Young Mufulira Wanderers Football Club, while Goalkeeper Coach Charles Kalumba Mpunga and Physical Trainer Joseph Sitali will continue in their current roles.

The club’s Board, Management, and staff have extended their best wishes to the new coaching team in their respective roles.
