Mother testifies, accuses husband of defiling her 14-year-old daughter

A mother took the stand to testify against her own husband, accusing him of the unthinkable, defiling their 14-year-old daughter, resulting in a pregnancy.

The accused, George Mulinganiza, a 41-year-old Zambia Air Force (ZAF) flight Sergeant is accused of incest.

As the mother recounted the events leading up to the discovery, the courtroom fell silent.

On January 7, 2025, she noticed her daughter was unwell, and neighbours shared similar concerns.

A visit to the clinic at ZAF Twin Palm revealed the devastating truth, the daughter was 23 weeks pregnant, conceived in August.

“She was asked questions at the clinic, she did not answer in my presence, I was then asked to leave the doctor’s office. When I returned to the office I was told that she said that her father, Bernard Mulinginiza, had impregnated her,” she testified.

The mother had been away attending a funeral, leaving her husband behind in Lusaka.

The mother’s testimony revealed a disturbing timeline, as it was during her absence that the accused allegedly defiled his daughter.

She had taken two of their five children with her to the funeral, leaving the 14-year-old daughter and her father behind.

When questioned about the events, the mother admitted she did not ask her daughter for details, instead relying on the daughter’s statement and neighbours’ accounts.
