The Zambian government has called for prudent utilization of public resources across all missions abroad and the attainment of zero audit queries from their expenditures.
The government also wants the Heads of Zambia’s missions abroad to ensure that their engagements with potential investors have positive impact on ordinary Zambians.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Margret Miyoba said this at the Ministry in Lusaka on Monday during a virtual introductory meeting held with the Heads of Missions across Zambia’s High Commissions, Embassies and Consulates.
Miyoba emphasized that missions should not merely report on the number of activities implemented over a period of time but that the reports should explain the impact that such activities would have on Zambians.
“Do not Look at the number of activities that you are implementing in your annual plans but look at the impact that such projects and programs have on the lives of Zambians,” she advised.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary called for selfless service across all missions abroad as guided by President Hakainde Hichilema.
Miyoba called for hard work and advised the missions to carefully study the mandate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to which they get their direction for operations.
“Put service above everything else and ensure your work brings positive impact to Zambians,” she said.
He also called for a unified vision to spearhead Zambia’s development, in pursuit of economic diplomacy.
