Mining firm shows support for Aguila Stars football club

Mining firm, Vedanta Resources, has announced a K188,500 support towards Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) division one side, Aguila Stars Football Club.

Company Country Corporate Communications Director, Masuzyo Ndhlovu, made the announcement during a media briefing in Lusaka on Friday.

Ndhlovu said it is hoped that the financial support will enable the soccer team to be more competitive and meet its obligations and fixture in the league.

He said they had previously supported Aguila with a set of Jerseys or kit sponsorship worthy K268,000 on June 14, 2022 and in December the same again provided the team with $10,000.

“We are pleased to be associated with Aguila Football Club, which is currently in FAZ division one side. The club has been performing well and Vedanta is pleased with its growth, as well as the excellent enthusiasm and energy exhibited by management and the players,” Ndhlovu said.
