An illegal miner of Kalumbila District has reportedly been found hanging on a tree in a decomposed state.
According to police, on March this year, the deceased identified as Kumatongo Kumatongo left home reportedly to carry out mining activities at Kabangu amethyst mine and never returned.
North-Western Province Police Commanding Officer, Dennis Moola, said on Saturday Kamatongo was discovered hanging on a tree using a bedsheet with the head separated from the neck, in a decomposed state.

Moola said in a statement on Sunday that Police have since instituted investigations into the matter.
He said the matter was reported to police by Kumatongo Mukelabai 56, a relative to the deceased.
Moola said police visited the scene of crime with relatives and found the body had already fallen from the tree whilst his head was separated from the neck and was in a decomposed state.
He said the victim’s body was identified through the clothes he wore on the material day.
Brief facts were that the victim told his friends he was conducting mining activities and that he was going home in Solwezi but was on Saturday found hanging on a tree by a poacher.
