Erling Haaland scored twice for the first time in over three months as Manchester City hammered West Ham to match their biggest win of the season.
Haaland followed up his header late in the first half with a composed chip over advancing keeper Alphonse Areola, after running onto a through ball from Savinho.
According to the BBC Sports, Savinho was arguably City’s standout player, with his early cross leading to their 10th-minute opener, deflecting off Vladimir Coufal and leaving Areola stranded.
Phil Foden sealed the win with a tap-in, set up by Kevin de Bruyne, who opted to assist rather than mark his 400th City appearance with a goal.
West Ham pulled one back through Niclas Fullkrug, but Crysencio Summerville wasted their best chance after missing the target with an open goal.
It was the first time City had won successive games since October, offering a glimpse of recovery after a challenging run that had even seen Pep Guardiola question himself.
In contrast, West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui remains under pressure, with this defeat adding to his woes.
Aston Villa 2 – Leicester 1
Aston Villa secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Leicester City in their Midlands derby at Villa Park on Saturday.
The match, as reported by NBC Sports, saw all goals come in the second half. Ross Barkley gave Villa the lead, but Leicester responded through Stephy Mavididi, before Leon Bailey scored the winner.
Despite Leicester’s continued effort, Villa held on for their first win in three matches, moving up to 8th with 32 points.
Leicester remains in 19th, still two points adrift of safety.
Crystal Palace 1 – Chelsea 1
Chelsea’s winless streak extended to four matches as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.
The Standard reported that Chelsea took the lead through Cole Palmer’s well-taken goal after a brilliant assist from Jadon Sancho, but missed chances from Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, and Josh Acheampong proved costly.
Palace grew into the game and equalized through Jean-Philippe Mateta, who finished a pass from Eberechi Eze with 10 minutes remaining.
The draw was more beneficial for Palace, who are comfortably mid-table, while Chelsea continues to struggle, slipping further into trouble.
