The police on the Copperbelt have reported a case of rape where a man, aged 30, has reportedly defiled his daughter.
Copperbelt Police Chief, Peacewell Mweemba, in a statement on Friday said a 30-year-old man of Lufwanyama had been arrested for allegedly defiling his six-year-old daughter.
According to police, the offence happened on Wednesday around 20:00 hours at Katembula area of Lufwanyama.
The matter was reported the following day around 09:00 hours at Lufwanyama Police Station.
Facts of the matter were that the mother to the girl went out to attend a funeral in the neighbourhood living behind the child with the father.

Upon reaching the house from the funeral, she had a shock of her life as she found her husband sleeping on the same bed with his biological daughter.
She observed that the suspect was half naked with his trousers on the knees, and became suspicious and immediately the daughter saw her she ran to her.
The victim was then interviewed and disclosed that her father had come home drunk, started undressing her, played with her private parts before defiling her .
Records obtained by the police indicated the girl suffered painful and swollen private parts.
The girl is at the moment receiving medical attention at Lufwanyama District Hospital as the police open a docket for the suspect.
