Maimbolwa, Editor, Zambia Monitor, gets recognition for climate change reporting

Maimbolwa Mulikelela, Managing Editor of Zambia Monitor, has been recognized for her outstanding contribution in reporting climate change, especially in Zambia.

The award was bestowed by a coalition of civil society groups at an event held in Lusaka on Friday.

Mulikelela, a seasoned, an award-winning journalist, with vast experience in business reporting and analysis, was recognised for her dedication, passion and hard work around issues on climate change.

She was awarded second prize in the Agroecology, Social Accountability and Climate Change (ASACC) Media Awards.

Ms Mulikelela assumed leadership of Zambia Monitor in January, 2023.

The fast-rising online news platform is reputed for developmental journalism focused on governance, policy, economy, environment, human rights, and social Justice.

Beyond Zambia, its regional footprints include coverage of Invest Africa, United Nations Economic for Africa in Niger and African Forum and Network on Debt and Development (AFRODAD) in Ghana.

The award was presented by Caritas Zambia, ActionAid, FIAN International Zambia, World-Wide Fund (WWF), Zambia Alliance for Agroecology and Biodiversity, Pelum Zambia and ZAMSOF.
