The Lusaka High Court has ordered Reliable Utilities Zambia (RUZ) to pay K500,000 to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) for breaching a contract signed in November 2023.

The Kitwe-based company had entered into a four-year agreement with FAZ to supply 7,000 FIFA-certified KoPa-branded match balls annually and pay K500,000 in royalties each year.

RUZ had also agreed to allocate eight percent of the sponsorship revenue from the match balls to FAZ.

However, RUZ failed to appear or submit a defense in the case.

On March 5, 2025, Judge Mwikisa ruled in FAZ’s favor, ordering RUZ to pay K500,000 for breach of contract, in addition to compensating the association for damages, which will be assessed later.
