Lundazi Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament, Brenda Nyirenda, says she is living in fear after the United Party for National Development (UPND) cadres allegedly threatened and attacked her for donating mattresses to Lundazi District Hospital.
Nyirenda alleged that the UPND cadres savagely and barbarically attacked her and her entourage when she went to deliver the mattresses and blankets at the Ludanzi District Hospital, which has had no beddings and linen from 2022.
She said in an interview on Monday that her life was now in danger as the UPND cadres had vowed to deal with her because, according to them, she had commenced campaigns for the 2026 general elections.
A video is circulating on social media showing the alleged UPND cadres exchanging words with Nyirenda.

“I am now fearing for my life because if lUPND cadres can confront me in such a brutal and barbaric manner during daytime what about at night. The UPND cadres did not want me to donate the mattresses which had personally sourced to help the hospital as well as supplementing government’s efforts.
“The cadres attacked me and brutally roughed people and threatened to deal with me. I am no longer safe because I do not know when they will attack me,”Nyirenda said.
The UPND cadres were allegedly led by Lundazi District Vice Youth Chairman, Mark Zulu, and some councilors.
