Lumezi Member of Parliament, Munir Zulu, has accused millers of sabotaging government by selling expensive mealie-meal.
According to Zulu, this was because the millers wanted to get back at the government for destroying their business.
He said this when he featured on a broadcast programme on Millennium Television, a private owned station on Friday.

“I have a feeling that there is currently a sabotage that is taking place because there is no way prices of mealie-meal could be increasing every after two days.
“The Millers kept the maize without milling it because they knew that a time would come when they could sell it at any price and people would still buy,” Zulu said.
Zulu said miller were being called all sorts of names because they were caught up in the certain way of doing business with the previous government.
He also accused Ministry of Agriculture of not being sincere in addressing the actual challenges under the ministry.
“Most of the Millers were equally into the history of supplying fertiliser to government and when there was a chance of administration the Millers have labelled to be thieves and they sponsor opposition political parties was not suppose to be the case,” Zulu said.
Zulu warned that it was dangerous to fight businessmen because they had potential to sabotage the country’s economy.
“I understand that the UPND want to bring in new players but that is not the way business is done because they are supposed to harmonise both the new and old players in the supply chain.
“Businessmen are easy to deal with because their major focus was to make profit and if you tell them forget about who you were dealing with yesterday they were bound to oblige but if you go for them they have potential to sabotage the economy,” he said.
Zulu suggested that government needed to call all suppliers to the table to discuss the issues of patronage and make them understand that was a change of government.
He said the other mistake that the government made was to export all the maize to neighbouring countries.
