Luangwa District: Govt completes survey of public properties in education sector

0

The government has completed surveying all public properties in the education sector in Luangwa District, Lusaka Province, as part of a national land titling exercise aimed at curbing encroachment.

The initiative, guided by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, seeks to place all government institutions on title to safeguard them from illegal occupation.

Lusaka Provincial Administration Principal Public Relations Officer, Logic Lukwanda, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Monday.

He stated that all 18 properties under the Ministry of Education in Luangwa were surveyed in 2024 and are now set for titling.

“This is in line with the government directive to secure all public institutions by placing them on title to protect them from encroachment, especially given the rising cases of illegal land occupation,” Lukwanda said.

Following the completion of the Luangwa exercise, he added that provincial surveyors have moved to Chongwe to carry out similar work on public infrastructure.

The survey initiative would cover all six districts in Lusaka Province—Luangwa, Rufunsa, Chongwe, Lusaka, Chilanga, and Kafue—ensuring that all government properties are legally secured from encroachment.
