With 64 points from 27 matches, Arne Slot’s side hold a commanding lead over second-placed Arsenal, who have a game in hand.

City, meanwhile, sit fourth on 44 points, their bid for a fifth consecutive title fading into a battle for a Champions League spot.

Newcastle edge Forest 4-3 in seven-goal thriller

In an other match, Newcastle United returned to winning ways with a dramatic 4-3 victory over Nottingham Forest at St James’ Park, surviving a late fightback from the visitors.

Forest struck first through Callum Hudson-Odoi, but Newcastle responded swiftly. Lewis Miley equalized before Jacob Murphy put them ahead, and Alexander Isak’s brace—including a penalty—made it 4-1 by halftime.

The Independent reported that the hosts nearly added a fifth when Fabian Schar hit the post, but Forest dominated the second half.

Nikola Milenkovic pulled one back just after the hour mark, and Murillo came close with a header before Ryan Yates made it 4-3 in the 90th minute.

However, Newcastle held on to secure all three points.

The win lifts Newcastle to fifth ahead of their clash with Liverpool, while Forest remain third and face Arsenal next.
