Konkola Copper Mines Plc (KCM) has confirmed the death of miner involved in a mine accident.
The mining company said in a statement on Saturday that a fatal mine accident occurred at the New East Mill operation.

The statement said the accident involved a KCM permanent employee, Lawrence Ndalama, who was pronounced dead at the Nchanga South Mine Hospital.
“Investigations have commenced to ascertain the circumstances of the accident. KCM has informed the next of kin and regulatory authorities about the fatality,” it stated.
The statement said KCM management sympathised with the family of the deceased as passed its sincere condolences.
