Konkola FC signs ex-Nkana boss, Chambeshi, as new coach

After speculations that former Nkana Football Club gaffer, Beston Chambeshi, was joining Power Dynamos, the veteran coach has been named Konkola Blades Football Club (KBFC).

“We are pleased to confirm the addition of veteran Beston Chambeshi to the technical team to take charge as Head Coach starting immediately,” a statement by Chiteta Chinyemba, KBFC Media Officer revealed on Thursday.

In a statement, Club Chairman, Davy Mubita, stated that Chambeshi who comes to the club not as a new face to the community of Chililabombwe, had been tasked to turn the fortunes of the club around up to the end of the season, with a club’s option of a further year.

Mubita said the club conducted a diligent and thoughtful process to reach to a decision of engaging Chambeshi who had vast experience with an outstanding record, to take charge of the club.

Menwhile, Chambeshi is happy that the club had shown confidence in him to take up the top job, with a call for oneness and focused mindset to both club management and the technical bench.

“We all know the team has suffered a bit of some setback in the previous games, but working with same mind and as a unit we will definitely achieve our desired results. We will definitely get into the right position in the league,” he assured.

Chambeshi is a coach renowned for his high-leveled energy and eye-catching style and he is known to have built a reputation for helping young players realise their full potential within a strong squad character.

The club retains other coaches, with Enos Silwimba taking the position of first Assistant Coach, while Lewington Mujembe and John Mukonje will be second assistant coaches.
