Kitwe woman stabs boyfriend over alleged love triangle

A 39-year-old man from Kitwe’s Chipata Compound is recovering after being stabbed in the private part by his girlfriend following a dispute over another man.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner, Peacewell Mweemba, confirmed the incident, identifying the victim as Felix Miyanda and the suspect as 35-year-old Naomi Mwanza.

“The victim reported that his girlfriend wounded his private part, causing bleeding and severe pain in his ribs. A knife was used to inflict the injuries,” Mweemba stated.

According to police findings, Miyanda had been invited by Mwanza to spend the night at her house.

However, shortly after their arrival, another man knocked and entered the house.

In an attempt to conceal her relationship with the second man, Mwanza allegedly demanded that Miyanda leave, but he refused.

The situation escalated, leading Mwanza to stab Miyanda, who lost consciousness due to excessive bleeding.

He later regained consciousness the following day and reported the matter to the police.

A medical report was issued, and Miyanda received treatment, with police confirming that his condition was stable.

Meanwhile, Mwanza has been apprehended and remained in police custody.

Authorities have also recovered the knife used in the attack.
