Former Siavonga District Commissioner, Lovemore Kanyama, has called on Patriotic Front (PF) members and the general public to respect the privacy of former president Edgar Lungu.
Kanyama claimed that it was a well known matter that Lungu had retired from active politics, hence the need to respect and treat him as the father of the nation.
The former Siavonga District Commissioner under the PF administration made the call in a statement issued in Lusaka on Sunday.
He appealed to PF members who had cases with government not to lure the former president into partizan politics but rather fight their cases alone.
“It is very disappointing to note the insults being poured at the former Head of State, the conduct must be stopped immediately as it was likely to continue in future,” Kanyama said.
He further appealed to Lungu not to entertain individuals visiting his residence with the idea of convincing him into coming back to active politics,
Kanyama encouraged Lungu to play his role as father of the nation, noting that well meaning Zambians were hoping for him and President Hakainde Hichilema to sit at one table.
