Kantanshi Member of Parliament, Anthony Mumba, has dismissed claims that he has been expelled from the Patriotic Front (PF), stating that factional leader, Miles Sampa, lacked the authority to remove him from the former ruling party.
Responding to reports circulating on social media, Mumba laughed off the alleged expulsion letter, calling it a political stunt by Sampa to grab headlines.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Mumba described the letter as a joke, insisting it should not be taken seriously.
“Let me make it clear that he has no powers to expel me. All he wanted was to make political headlines, something that has failed. You know he is an attention seeker and unstable,” Mumba said.

The lawmaker urged residents of Kantanshi to remain resolute, emphasizing that the alleged expulsion would not affect his political standing.
“This fake letter has truly exposed a lot, and it is worth reflecting on for those supporting me as well as those celebrating,” Mumba added.
In the letter seen by Zambia Monitor on Monday, Sampa had accused Mumba of undermining his leadership by masquerading as the PF chairperson.
He also alleged that Mumba made “disparaging remarks” about both the current and former party leadership, which Sampa described as demeaning.
The expulsion dispute comes amid ongoing divisions within the PF, as the party seeks to rebuild its leadership and unity following its loss in the 2021 general elections.
