Chipolopolo midfielder, Kings Kangwa, made his UEFA Champions League debut last night against title holders English giants Manchester City.
Kangwa was introduced in the match as an 81st minute substitute for his Serbian side Red Star Belgrade in a Group G encounter that ended three-one in favour Manchester City.
A Julian Alvarez brace, with a goal in either half and a second half Rodri strike ensured that the champions started the match on a winning note.
Despite Red Star Belgrade scoring first at the stroke of half time through Ghanian Osman Bukari, the goal ended up being a consolation.
Despite the loss, Kangwa took to social media to express excitement for participating in such a high profile fixture.
“Forget about the defeat but keep content, Next!! 💪🏽
I’m super proud to have made UEFA Champions League debut, hungry for more.
Thank you so much for the support 💪🏽. Lastly that’s something I will never forget,” he posted on his official media platform.
Meanwhile Miguel Chaiwa was an unused substitute for Swiss side Young Boys when they lost three-one at home to RB Leipzig in the other Group G match.
