Former Lusaka Province Minister, Bowman Lusambo, showed a symbol of defiance, raising the Patriotic Front (PF) fist, as he vowed resilience following a two-year prison sentence issued by the Luanshya Magistrate Court.
On Wednesday, Lusambo was sentenced to two years of hard labour for assaulting Stanley Musukwa, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) member, during the 2019 Roan Constituency by-election.
Before his transfer to prison, Lusambo called on supporters to remain unwavering, asserting he would continue to fight for his “rights.”
“This is a political case, and I am not shaken,” he declared.
“Trump has come back, and PF will also return in 2026. We must be strong. This country belongs to all of us, and we shall fight.”
Last week, Magistrate Penistone Chiluba delivered the judgment in Lusambo’s absence, prompting a bench warrant for his arrest.

Police later detained him after reportedly locating him hiding in the ceiling of his residence.
Lusambo was found guilty of attacking Musukwa, 58, with a machete, inflicting severe head and facial injuries.
A medical report confirmed that Musukwa’s injuries were caused by a sharp weapon.
