Israeli strikes on Northern Gaza claim 87 lives, as Lebanon’s Hezbollah fires over 200 rockets on Isreal

At least 87 people have been killed and more than 40 injured in Israeli strikes on Beit Lahia, according to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry.

The ministry reports that some victims remain trapped under rubble and in areas inaccessible to ambulance crews.

Last night, Hamas authorities indicated that 73 people had died in the bombings, as reported by the BBC.

Israel is investigating these casualty reports but has stated that the figures from Hamas are “exaggerated” and inconsistent with military data.

In a separate incident, five people, including local Mayor Haidar Shahla, were killed in an Israeli strike in the Eastern Bekaa Valley region of Lebanon.

The strike targeted a residential apartment in Baaloul, with several others injured and rescue operations ongoing, according to the Lebanese state-run National News Agency (NNA).

This morning, residents in two neighborhoods of Beirut received warnings from the Israeli military to evacuate, indicating a continuation of airstrikes for a second day.

On Saturday, at least 12 strikes targeted southern suburbs, while over 70 strikes hit various locations across Lebanon, resulting in at least 30 deaths, according to the Lebanese health ministry.

The Israeli Air Force claims to have destroyed weapons storage facilities and missile launching sites in these operations.

Despite thousands of airstrikes in recent weeks, Hezbollah has maintained its capability to launch rockets and drones into Israel, with around 200 projectiles recorded over the past 24 hours.

Hezbollah has warned that its conflict with Israel is entering a “new phase.”
