Investors confident in Zambian economy, President Hichilema speaks on gains of US visit

President Hakainde Hichilema and his delegation has left the United States (U.S) for Zambia after attending the U.S-Africa summit in Washington DC.

According to a post shared on his facebook page on Sunday, President Hichilema said the delegation held fruitful talks with various business and potential investors interested in setting up investments in Zambia.

“We have left the United States for Zambia after taking part in various high level meetings with fellow Heads of State and Government in the US-AFRICA Summit in Washington DC.

“We also held fruitful talks with several business leaders, potential investors and many other stakeholders that have shown interest in supporting Zambia’s quest to accelerate her economic transformation agenda,” President Hichilema said.

The the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit took place from December 13 to 15, 2022.

The three-day summit continued efforts to strengthen ties with African partners based on principles of mutual respect and shared interests and values.

It also served as an opportunity to listen to and collaborate with African counterparts on key areas the United States and Africa define as critical for the future of the continent and our global community.

Delegations from all 49 invited African countries and the African Union, alongside members of civil society and the private sector attended the summit.
