Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister, Jack Mwiimbu, has alleged that Police under the Patriotic Front (PF) government defecated on President Hakainde Hichilema’s bed during one of the raids when he was in opposition.
Mwiimbu said this during a Ministerial statement issued to Parliament on Friday in Lusaka on a matter of urgent public importance raised by Katombola Member of Parliament Clement Andeleki.
The Minister said under the UPND government, the Police have been given strict instructions to operate professionally in the execution of their duties and will continue to protect the rights of Zambians.
He said the Police under the PF made a lot of mistakes such as killing innocent citizens, like late Prosecutor Nsama Nsama, among others, and that this will not be repeated under President Hakainde Hichilema.
“There is no legal requirement pertaining to a police call out and Police are obliged to enforce a bench warrant, which is their mandate to arrest on site for defying a bench warrant,” Mwiimbu said.

He said a Police call out is merely an administrative process, which is an accepted practice through which members of the public are invited by the Police to answer concerns raised against them.
Mwiimbu said people were now free to interact with the police unlike in the past when citizens were scared to approach such offices and were tear gassed if they complain through legal protests.
“I would like to appeal to members of the public never to forget such incidences as we reflect on police brutality under the PF regime in order to compare and contrast the two political parties while in power,” he said.
