An innovative summit to explore latest trends and developments in technology and business models is underway in Lusaka.
The summit dubbed Leading Edge, Agility, Diversity and Sustainability (L.E.A.D.S) put in place by Zanaco Bank seeks to also celebrate innovation and encourage entrepreneurship in Zambia.
Mukwandi Chibesakunda, the Zanaco Chief Executive Officer, said at the summit on Thursday that it was about celebrating innovation, and exploring the latest trends and developments in technology, business models, and social innovation.
Chibesakunda said the bank had brought together a diverse group of innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and thought leaders to share their insights and experiences, and to inspire participants with their insights.
“Innovation requires that we are at the forefront in technological development. as Zanaco, we are happy to announce that we have scored many firsts in the technology space.
“I am excited to see what we can achieve together, and I look forward to the ideas, insights, and collaborations that will emerge from this first ever Zanaco innovation summit,” she said.

At the same summit, Lusaka Province Minister, Sheal Mulyata, emphasised the need for continued investment in the technology space to ensure that every citizen had access to affordable and reliable internet connectivity.
This, she said, must be supported by creation of an enabling environment for tech start-ups to flourish, providing them with the necessary resources and support to scale their businesses.
Mulyaya said such investment would support local entrepreneurs who had shown exceptional resilience and creativity, leveraging technology to address the unique challenges faced by society.
She said this in a speech read in her behalf by Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary, Robert Kamalata, at the Zanaco bank Leading Edge, Agility, Diversity and Sustainability (L.E.A.D.S) innovation summit in Lusaka yesterday.
“We must support our youth in acquiring the skills needed to thrive in the digital economy, fostering a generation of innovative thinkers and problem solvers,” she said.
