Imboela dismisses defamation allegations as ‘frivolous,’ insinuates s*xual harassment

Saboi Imboela, the detained president of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has dismissed defamation allegations brought against her by Levy Ngoma and Trevor Mwiinde as “frivolous and vexatious.”

Imboela argued that the allegations were baseless, citing Emmanuel Jay Banda’s explicit identification of Ngoma, the political advisor to President Hakainde Hichilema, and Mwiinde, the deputy national youth chairperson, in connection with his abduction.

In her defense, Imboela denied owning or managing the Facebook page titled “National Democratic Congress Party” and therefore did not publish the allegedly defamatory content.

She maintained that the statements in question were factually accurate, as Banda had identified the plaintiffs as being involved in his abduction.

Imboela also claimed that Ngoma had been sent by President Hichilema for negotiations but was more interested in pursuing a personal relationship with her.

She questioned the legitimacy of the defamation claim, describing it as premature and an attempt to intimidate and harass her.

Imboela seeks the dismissal of the case with costs, labeling it as lacking merit and an abuse of the court process.
