Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) Chief Executive Officer, Cornwell Muleya, has extended a formal invitation to global investors, highlighting Zambia’s vast potential across diverse economic sectors.
Speaking at the Country Showcase – Zambia panel during the Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Muleya underscored Zambia’s commitment to creating an investor-friendly environment by reducing barriers to entry.
Muleya emphasized the pivotal role of the IDC in driving industrialization, creating jobs, and contributing to economic transformation.
“We handle local legislative measures, manage logistics, and secure land, ensuring that investors have a credible government partner. Our goal is to safeguard your investments for the future,” he assured the international audience in a statement released in Lusaka on Thursday.
Muleya outlined IDC’s vision to foster a community that was not only investor-friendly but also globally connected and powered by technology to drive both social and economic progress.
“The Zambian government is focused on a long-term strategy for industrialization and improving the lives of its citizens. We aim to build a community that is both integrated with the world and empowered by technology to impact our social and economic sectors,” he explained.

Operating in 12 key sectors through 36 subsidiaries, Muleya highlighted the immense opportunities available for investors to partner with Zambia in various industries, with a particular focus on mining.
“The government is actively seeking partnerships to expand Zambia’s mining potential. Through these collaborations, we aim to create jobs, enhance local communities, and ensure both environmental and financial sustainability,” Muleya added.
