President Hakainde Hichilema has threatened to raise his whipping stick a little higher in an effort to ensure that development gets down to better the lives of Zambians.
Hichilema told the public service workers that they were privileged to work for the public, thereby the need to work hard.
He said even in the Bible, laziness was detested.
The Head of State said this on Monday during the Lwiindi Gonde Traditional Ceremony in Monze, Southern Province.
“Those of us who work for the public must know that we are privileged to work for the public and we must work hard. Only hard work will change Zambia. “Let us work hard and that is the only way we will make life better,” Hichilema said.
He also said he was aware that Constituency Development Fund (CDF) had delivered schools, clinics and many other initiatives.
President Hichilema stated that the new dawn administration would do more to overcome the challenges that faced the country.
“I am also pleased that the government is employing the youth in different sectors in all the 10 provinces. “We have employed teachers, soldiers, police officers and many more.
“There is no single Chief here who can say their children were not employed. We are employing fairly and equitably,” he said.
