Hichilema holds talks with US ambassador, PGI coordinator over Lobito Corridor, Greenfield Railway

President Hakainde Hichilema has met with the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGI) acting Special Coordinator, Helaina Matza, to discuss areas of cooperation.

A post on Hichilema’s official Facebook handle stated that discussions centred on the developments around the Lobito Corridor and Zambia-Lobito Greenfield Railway.

The president said on Thursday that these would be a game-changer for regional connectivity and trade facilitation.

“This morning we received a courtesy call from Helaina Matza, the Acting Special Coordinator for the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGI), accompanied by the American Ambassador, Michael Gonzalez.

“We thanked Ms. Matza for the special message from President Biden and wished her the best as she visits the region to advance ongoing PGI-led investments,” he said.
