President Hakainde Hichilema has called for discipline, hard work and servant leadership from government officials, as he swore in new diplomats at State House in Lusaka on Wednesday.
He stated the need for integrity and dedication in public service, urging his appointees to focus on delivering results for the country.
“My emphasis is on the importance of discipline, dedication and integrity in the roles of those working with me,” President Hichilema said.
Among those sworn in were Eliphas Chinyonga as Zambia’s Ambassador to Morocco, and Cheswa Kaunda Silwizya, daughter of First President Kenneth Kaunda, as Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Additionally, Happy Banda and Gift Hajongola were sworn in as Public Policy Specialists at the Cabinet Office.
President Hichilema tasked Ambassador Chinyonga with strengthening Zambia’s bilateral ties with Morocco, particularly in areas like agriculture, water management, precision irrigation and expanding cooperation in fertilizer and renewable energy.
He urged Ambassador Silwizya, with her extensive diplomatic experience, to enhance Zambia’s global image by delivering accurate and favorable messages.
For Banda and Hajongola, the President encouraged efforts to improve public sector work quality, stressing that patriotism and dedication were key to achieving government’s objectives.
