Mansa Catholic Diocese in Luapula Province Bishop, Patrick Chisanga, has urged government to concentrate on working for the Zambian people as opposed to comparing itself to the previous administration.

Speaking during his homily at Mansa Catholic Cathedral on the solemnity of Holy Trinity on Sunday, Bishop Chisanga observed that Zambian people gave the mandate to the United Party for National Development (UPND) to work for them.

Bishop Chisanga pointed out that it is the time for the party in government to focus on delivering for the Zambian people who entrusted them with authority to govern the country by not getting distracted by other things.

He observed that the goodness with democracy is that people tend to choose, which political party they want to be in power and Zambians chose the UPND, hence it is time for the party to work towards taking development to all parts of the country.

“We have had a lot of political parties which formed government and we might even have a lot more in future but what is important is for the party in government to work for all Zambians, even those who never voted for them,” he said.

The Clergy has explained that the government should use this opportunity which the Zambian people have given to them to better their livelihood.
