Chingola District United Party for National Development (UPND) Chairperson, Scrivener Bwalya, claims that the ruling party is still the most attractive political organization in the district.

Bwalya said that despite the high cost of living and the recent Chingola mine accident which claimed 30 miners, the ruling party was still intact.

“We have delivered beyond any other party that has ruled in the shortest period, the constituency Development Fund (CDF) is doing wonders and we have leveled the political playing field in the country, we remain attractive,” he said in an interview with Zambia Monitor in Chingola on Friday.

Bwalya said the district was receiving infrastructure boost through CDF, thereby transforming communities that lagged behind.

He said the opposition had nothing to say as most of the economic issues were being resolved.

“Despite the talk that the UPND has failed we have performed to the people’s expectations, and that is the reason we have continued receiving defectors from opposition,” Bwalya said.

He urged elected leaders in the district to ensure that CDF funds were utilized to the fullest, thus uplifting the living standard of the people.
