Harvest Group of Companies has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Zambian government’s efforts to improve the lives of its people through its Foundation.

The Very Reverend Ada Ugo-Ngadi, Managing Director of Harvest Group of Companies Limited, said that the company, through the Harvest Foundation, was prepared to undertake various charitable activities aimed at enhancing the lives of Zambians.

During a media briefing held at John Wesley Methodist Church, Lusaka, Ugo-Ngadi responded to a question on why Harvest Foundation was partnering the church in Zambia.

She said that the primary goal of Harvest Foundation was to impact as many Zambians as possible, with the John Wesley Methodist Church project being one of the methods used to achieve this goal.

“At Harvest Group of Companies, we have a Foundation, and it is called Harvest Foundation, and the thrust is to reach out to everyone possible in Zambia. So John Wesley Methodist Church in Zambia is one of the ways and means that we are using to reach out, and for us, our business is a mission,” Ugo-Ngadi said.

She emphasized that the company’s operations in Zambia were rooted in missionary work, which would continue regardless of business conditions.

“The entire reason for our being is our mission which Harvest Foundation is here to carry out. For anyone who cares to listen, anytime we miss this mission, we miss the business, so the reason for our being is the mission and not the business,” she added.

Ugo-Ngadi assured Zambians that the mission would live for years and noted that the Foundation had no political affiliations.

“We are in Church doing God’s work, and this church precedes many administrations and will continue till the end of time. It has nothing to do with politics,” she said.

Attendees at the media briefing, led by the Prelate, Methodist Nigeria, included Ifeanyi Okechukwu, Lay President of Conference, Methodist Church of Nigeria; Right Reverend Dr. Babatunde Abiodun Taiwo, Secretary of Conference, Methodist Church Nigeria; and Right Reverend Inyang Okon Effiong, Connexional Secretary for Evangelism and Discipleship.

Also present were Sir Ugochukwu Ikoro-Ngadi, Chairman of Harvest Group of Companies Limited; and the Very Reverend Ogaba Isaac Ogaba, Presbyter, John Wesley Methodist Church, Lusaka.

In his remarks, visiting Methodist Church of Nigeria Prelate Dr. Oliver Aba expressed gratitude to the Zambian government for its hospitality.

“First and foremost, I want to appreciate the Zambian government for showering us with their hospitality and allowing us to dwell among their people. Where you are living at a given point in time is your home, and you cannot wish for that environment to be evil,” he said.

Aba encouraged Christians to continue praying for sustained peace and stability in Zambia.
