Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club has unveiled four new players to fill the gap created by the exit of key players currently playing overseas.
This is also meant to enhance the clubs performance.
Signed players are left-winger Alice Moyo, 22, center-back Catherine Gwagwara, 18, Bertha Kondo, 17, all Zimbabwe nationals, and goalkeeper Ngambo Musole, Copper Queens goalkeeper and ex-Zesco United player.
Army Director General of Sports, Commerce, and Community Services (SCCS), Brigadier General Daniel Tembo said the signing of the four players is also aimed at enhancing competition among players and ensuring the club’s current status is maintained at both local and international engagements.

The director general also appealed to the new players to quickly fit into the team’s strategy to achieve its aim of always being leaders.
He assured the four that the club would not only give them exposure to football but also help them gain the much-needed experience.

“Green Buffaloes are not just national league champions but also COSAFA defending champions, hence the need to maintain the status quo,” he said. during the unveiling ceremony at Zambia Army Headquarters in Lusaka on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the team coach, Charles Haalubono expressed confidence that the players would blend in quickly and start producing desired results, saying the most important thing is coordination between new and old players.
And the players, through Moyo, assured the team that they would put in their best efforts to help the team achieve its desired results.
Moyo said the team was happy to be part of Zambia’s league leaders and COSAFA’s defending champions.
Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club is leading the FAZ Women’s Super League Division Table with 57 points.
