Govt to spend K1.2 million on Kabwata cultural village upgrades

The government has reportedly made available over K1.2 Million to build a wall fence and information centre at Kabwata cultural village.

Lusaka Provincial Administration Principal Public Relations Officer confirmed this in a statement issued in Lusaka on Friday.

Lukwanda stated that the contract was being executed by Zambia National Service (ZNS) who were already on site, with works progressing well.

“Lusaka Provincial Administration is the client for the project whose contract sum is VAT inclusive,” he said

Lukwanda stated that the project was funded by the Ministry of Tourism and was being administered by Lusaka Provincial Administration.

He said the completion of the project would ensure a facelift for Kabwata cultural where Artisans from the 10 Provinces of Zambia unite.

“The project goes a long way in uplifting the status of the legendary Kabwata cultural village as tourism site inline with the New Dawn government’s aspiration to boost tourism across the country,” Lukwanda said.

The contract period for the works at Kabwata Village is six months.
