SMART Zambia National Coordinator, Percy Chinyama, has announced government’s development of an electronic registry system set to launch in 2025.
This new system he claimed would feature a comprehensive inventory of files, aimed at enhancing service delivery and securing information within the public sector.
Chinyama made this announcement during his keynote address at the 51st annual general conference of the Library and Information Association of Zambia (LIAZ) in Livingstone on Thursday.
“The registry system will offer seamless storage and easier retrieval of data for registry personnel,” Chinyama stated.
He also urged LIAZ to embrace data-driven practices and actively participate in the country’s digital transformation.
Officiating at the event, Technology and Science Minister Felix Mutati, represented by Southern Province Permanent Secretary, Dr Namani Moonze, encouraged LIAZ members to adopt innovative approaches in their work.
