Small Scale Farmers Development Agency (SAFADA) has urged government to develop improved methods for educating farmers on climate-smart agriculture to ensure their full adoption of these practices.
SAFADA Executive Director, Boyd Moobwe, stressed the importance of educating all farmers on climate-smart agriculture.
Moobwa in an interview on Friday in Lusaka explained that this was to ensure no one was left out of climate resilience efforts and to help people better manage potential climate crises.
He noted that while farmers were encouraged to use both organic and chemical farming techniques, it is crucial they are well-informed about organic farming to ensure the production of highly nutritious crops.

He further emphasised that government’s support for climate-smart and organic farming should be directly provided to farmers, not through intermediary organisations.
“This is to ensure that farmers receive the necessary funds and information, preventing poor outcomes,” Moobwa said.
