Four suspects appear in court over murder of IBA Director-General, Muleya

Four suspects, including two police officers and a systems engineer, appeared in Lusaka Magistrates’ Court on Friday in connection with the murder of Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) Director- General Guntila Muleya.

The accused are Francis Chipyoka, an accountant at IBA; Methusan Basa Domowe, 29; Calib Zulu, 30, both police officers; and Samuel Dokowe, 37, a systems engineer.

They face charges of murder, but Magistrate Mutinta Mwenya could not address the charges due to errors on the indictment, including the absence of a date.

The State had requested an adjournment to correct these issues and the case had been rescheduled for September 23.

Muleya’s body was found with gunshot wounds on the outskirts of Lusaka in July.
