Keith Mweemba, one of the disqualified candidates in the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) presidential race, has described the invalidation of eight out of nine nominations as the “joke of the century.”

On Monday evening, the FAZ Electoral Committee announced the list of successful candidates for the March 27, 2025, elections, with incumbent Andrew Kamanga proceeding unopposed after eight other hopefuls were disqualified.

Speaking to journalists at Football House on Tuesday, Mweemba, a lawyer, condemned the decision, calling it an “illegality” that should not be tolerated in football administration.

“Whatever happened on Monday is a joke of the century. It will never stand. Let them continue dreaming. I am a lawyer with many years of practice in this country, and I know how to interpret the Constitution,” he said.
