Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president, Andrew Kamanga, says 36 copper queens’ players will be called up for the local camp with the team heading to Germany for an international camp a fortnight later.
Kamanga in a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday said a host of friendly matches including against the host nation and Ireland.
He said the Copper Queens will fly straight to New Zealand from Germany for their historic world cup campaign.
“The Copper Queens are in Group C alongside Spain, Japan and Costa Rica and will open their campaign on July 22,” Kamanga said.
He said on the Chipolopolo side of business, preparations for the June 17 monumental Group H Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ivory Coast are underway.

Kamanga said the technical bench has put together a programme that will kick in once the domestic season closes.
“Foreign based players will be available for a longer period as their seasons are ending giving the technical bench more time than the previous round of qualifiers to prepare the team,” he said.
Kamanga said given that it will be Zambia’s final AFCON qualifying match at home, the Chipolopolo will be fighting for a win to wrap up the qualification process and seal the ticket back to the continent’s premium competition.
