He explained that the incident was suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault which prompted a swift response from the building’s electrical and emergency services departments.

Hamoonga further stated that all personnel present at the premises at the time were successfully evacuated, and that there were no casualties.

“The safety of our officers and staff is our utmost priority and we are grateful that everyone managed to evacuate safely,” he said.

Hamoonga acknowledged the electrical and emergency services departments for their prompt and effective response in containing the fire.

“Their efforts played a crucial role in minimizing the extent of the damage,” he said.

Hamoonga said the extent of the impact was still under investigation along with the cause of the fault.

He assured the public that measures were in place to ensure that smooth service operation continued despite the disruption.

“Our electrical department is working tireless to restore power on the only affected floor,” Homoonga said.
