The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has accused Royal Kents Engineering Limited of delivering substandard work on the Chipata DK Stadium.
This comes in response to a lawsuit filed by Royal Kents, which claimed unpaid fees totaling over US$161,000.
The contract between FAZ and Royal Kents detailed specific construction requirements and costs, with a project timeline of six months.
However, delays arose due to late milestone payments and administrative issues.

In its defense filed with the Lusaka High Court, FAZ denied responsibility for the delays and asserted that Royal Kents failed to meet contract specifications and FIFA standards.
FAZ further alleged that Royal Kents did not provide the required handover certificate or certificate of completion.
FAZ’s counterclaim included accusations that Royal Kents breached contractual obligations by failing to build the stadium to FIFA standards.
Additionally, FAZ alleged that Mathias Phiri, the second defendant, breached his fiduciary duties as an intermediary and agent for both parties.
