The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has decided to maintain fuel pump prices for March 2025, following a negligible rise in global oil prices and the Kwacha’s movement against major currencies.
Starting March 1, 2025, petrol will remain priced at K34.98 per litre, and diesel at K32.54 per litre, unchanged from February.
Kerosene would continue at K29.56 per litre, while Jet A-1 fuel would stay at K32.51 per litre.

ERB Board Chairperson, James Banda, explained that global oil prices had seen minor fluctuations since the last adjustment.
The price of petrol increased by 1.93 percent, rising from US$80.80 per barrel to US$82.36, while diesel decreased by 2.23 percent, from US$91.62 per barrel to US$89.60.
Additionally, during February 2025, the Kwacha depreciated by 1.09 percent against the US Dollar, from K28.33/US$ to K28.64/US$.
Banda emphasized that the decision to keep domestic fuel prices unchanged was based on the fact that the changes in wholesale prices did not exceed the 2.50% trigger threshold.
