The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has awarded a contract to Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing of the United Arab Emirates to print and deliver ballot papers and other materials for the 2026 general elections.
ECZ Chief Electoral Officer, Brown Kasaro, announced during a media briefing in Lusaka on Monday that the contract was signed on January 10, 2025.
Kasaro revealed that the tender attracted seven submissions, including six from international bidders and one local bidder.
“On May 6, 2024, the ECZ reissued the tender for printing and delivering electoral materials, such as ballot papers, posters, blind voter templates, announcement forms, voter lists, and registers,” Kasaro stated.
The ECZ will also commence a 60-day mass voter registration exercise in the second quarter of 2025 to ensure an updated voter roll.
Kasaro emphasized that a deduplication process will follow to maintain the integrity of the Register of Voters.

To support this effort, the ECZ plans to launch an extensive voter education and publicity campaign.
Kasaro noted that Continuous Voter Registration centers remained operational and urged eligible citizens to register ahead of the 2026 elections.
He added that the Register of Voters would be certified in April 2026.
“The Commission is committed to transparent communication and will continue engaging stakeholders, including political parties, civil society, faith-based organizations, traditional leaders, and the media,” Kasaro assured.
