The government has urged all stakeholders in the education sector to uphold the highest integrity during the ongoing 2024 end-of-year school examinations.
Joel Kamoko, Permanent Secretary for Education Services in the Ministry of Education, stated that parents, guardians, educators and other stakeholders bore a duty to ensure a smooth administration of the Grade seven, nine and 12 examination.
Speaking from his office in Lusaka on Tuesday, Kamoko highlighted both the legal and moral obligations to prevent any examination malpractice, ensuring a credible and fair examination process.
“The Ministry of Education, through the Examinations Council of Zambia, aims to maintain credibility in examinations, and this is only possible with the support of all stakeholders,” Kamoko stated.
He stressed that managing credible examinations was essential to assess whether learners were well-prepared to meet Zambia’s social and economic needs.

Kamoko commended educators for their dedication in preparing both the 2024 examinations and the learners themselves.
Kamoko noted that Grade seven examinations began on October 28, with Grade 12 examination set to start on November 4, and Grade nine examination at the end of November.
He urged candidates to give their best efforts and called on those overseeing the examination to remain vigilant.
“As we are in the examination period, I call upon all parents, guardians, and educators to support learners by ensuring they arrive at school on time and that sanitation standards are well maintained,” he added.
